This text offers a philosophical and ethical interpretation of Letters to Olga: Reflections from Prison, a work written by Václav Havel whilst imprisoned in communist Czechoslovakia. Drawing on the historical context of the repression against dissidents from VONS and the Charter 77 movement, the text analyses how Havel transforms his prison experience into a reflection on human dignity, moral responsibility and the search for meaning.
